The Asian Ceramics Technology 50 Forum, jointly organized by BCMEA and Foshan Uniceramics Expo, served as a premier platform to strengthen Bangladesh-China industry synergy, bringing together leading ceramic manufacturers, technology experts, investors, and policymakers. As part of a week-long program, BCMEA organized a day-long seminar sessions on 19 July 2025 titled the Asian Ceramics Technology 50 Forum, held at Hotel Amari, Dhaka. The forum brought together ceramic industry leaders from Bangladesh and China to discuss technological innovation, production efficiency, investment opportunities, and strengthened cross-border cooperation. Mr. Irfan Uddin, General Secretary of BCMEA, welcomed the delegates, emphasizing knowledge-sharing, sustainable growth, and industry modernization. Chief Guest Mr. Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA, Acting President of BCMEA, highlighted Bangladesh’s investor-friendly policies, joint venture prospects, and technology transfer initiatives, positioning the country as a dynamic hub for global ceramics investment.

The first technical session titled “Product Quality and Production Efficiency” was chaired by Mr. Mohd Ziaul Hoque Zico, Director of BCMEA and Deputy Managing Director & CEO of Hua Thai Ceramics Industries Ltd. Engr. Sadat H. Talukder, Consultant of Ceramic Sector, and Mr. Luo Fei, Ceramic Equipment Technology Expert from Foshan Uniceramics Development Co. Ltd., served as resource persons, while Mr. Saidur Rahman Khan, Director (Operations), Akij Ceramics Ltd., and Ms. Yang Shuilan, General Manager of Foshan Lang Kun Electromechanical Equipment Co. Ltd., participated as discussants. The session addressed challenges in quality enhancement, cost control, raw material inefficiencies, and skills gaps, emphasizing advanced kiln technology, automation, Al-based inspection, and productivity improvement to strengthen industry competitiveness.

The second session, “Cost Reduction, Efficiency Improvement, and Tile Performance Optimization,” was chaired by Mr. Mahin Bin Mazher, Advisor to BCMEA and Managing Director of X Ceramic Group. Mr. Mohammad Bayazed Bashar CBO, DBL Ceramics Ltd. And Co. Ltd. And Mr. Liu Zhanjie Technology Expert, Foshan Uniceramics Development Co. Ltd. presented strategies on cost reduction, raw material alternatives, zero-waste initiatives, cogeneration, and tile performance optimization. Discussants Mr. A.K.M. Ziaul Islam, COO, Meghna Ceramic Industries Ltd. and Mr. Sun Bowen Sales Manager, Zibo Huayan Industrial Ceramics Co. Ltd. highlighted operational efficiency, environmental responsibility, and high-strength ceramic roller production. The session emphasized Bangladesh’s growth potential, global market expansion, and sustainable, cost-effective ceramic manufacturing practices.

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES & ECONOMIC GROWTH IN BANGLADESH
The third and the last session Opportunities Bangladesh” was chaired by Dr. Md. Anwar Ullah FCMA, former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh Mr. Mominul Haque, Vice President of LankaBangla Investments Plc, highlighted Bangladesh’s stabilizing economy projected 2025 GDP growth of 3.8-3.97% easing inflation, rising foreign reserves, and a $3 billion current account surplus. Discussants Mr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam MD & CEO Sendhani Life Finance Ltd, Mr. Li Xinliang General Manager, Foshan Uniceramics, and Ms. Joanna Sun Regional Manager, Tangshan Hexiang Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. emphasized high investor potential, attractive capital market returns, and turnkey expertise in sanitary ware projects with global patent leadership, underscoring Bangladesh as a growing investment destination.

In addition to the seminar sessions, BCMEA facilitated exclusive factory visits for the Chinese delegation, comprising over 30 senior representatives from leading ceramic raw material and machinery companies. The delegation toured Akij Ceramics Ltd, DBL, Ceramics Ltd, and Meghna Ceramic Industries Ltd. in Mymensingh, Gazipur, and Narayanganj, gaining first-hand insight into state-of-the-art production processes, operational excellence, and growth potential. These visits provided a strategic platform for understanding industry needs, identifying investment opportunities, and fostering long-term collaboration, reinforcing Bangladesh’s position as a promising destination for innovation-driven partnerships in the ceramics sector
